When applying for a home loan, copies of the following documents should be made available.  Print this page and use it as a handy checklist:

INCOME

• Last two years W2's
• Current paystub(s) covering a 30 day period with year-to-date earnings
• For commissioned income, last two years personal tax returns
• For self-employed, last two years personal and business tax returns

ASSETS

• Most recent two months bank statments (all pages) for all asset accounts (checking, savings, money market, brokerage etc...)
• Most recent retirement savings statement(s) for 401K, IRA accounts, pension etc...
• If using gift funds, a gift letter and copy of the deposit slip or wire transcript from your bank after funds have been deposited

MISCELLANEOUS

• Divorce decree and property settlement agreement
• Complete bankruptcy papers with discharge
• HUD-1 settlement statement for the recent sale of real estate
• Rental agreement for any rental properties
• Name and phone number for homeowners insurance agent
